1931, 15¢ Statue of Liberty, rotary press printing (Scott 696), magnificent centering, o.g., never hinged, Superb, with 2022 P.S.E. certificate graded SUP 98. SMQ $300.

The certificate for this lot is extraordinary: the picture shows a 15¢, the text reads 15¢, but the Scott number is wrong - 694 instead of the actual 696. So we have a genuine error cert. Is it worth more as an error? Should we auction the cert separate from the stamp? At least they got the grade right. In case the comedy bothers you (typos happen), PSE routinely reissues corrected certs in cases of errors .
