The collector stvied to acquire fresh and bright stamps with good color, and did a good job of it. Mostly used collection, 1851-1972, hinged on Scott album pages, with extensive representation of 19th century issues, including most values cataloging up to about $1000 each, plus some sporadic 20th century to about 1940, a few special delivery and even some duck stamps up to the 1970's. We note for example 1869 Pictorials to the 30¢ basic bank note era issues nearly complete, 1890 issue complete, Columbians to the 30¢ Trans-Miss. to the 50¢ and more. The Kans.-Nebr. set is complete and mint hinged. A few small faults noted here and there but mainly sound. Centering runs the gamut from V.G. to V.F., probably averages Fine +. A meaty lot with many valuable early issues, ideal for the dealer looking for stock or the collector trying to add classics. Scott $13,500+.
