Tonga, 1886-1938, important mint collection including rarities and varieties, in mounts on quadrille pages. Including all the basic Scott numbers from 1 through 72, plus numerous varieties. Better items include #8a ($400), 8b ($550), 22a ($310), 27b ($250), 31b ($400), 36a ($475), 37a ($3250) and 37j ($925). A few of these appear to have had Royal or BPA certificates but the certificates have been lost. A marvelous lot of classics, o.g., hinged, generally Fine to Very Fine. Scott $11,472+.
