Westtown, 1853-67 (2¢) gold (Scott 145L2), applied (uncanceled) to back of envelope, with 3¢ (#65) on front tied by West Chester, PA cancel, Fine to Very Fine.

Established in 1799 by Quakers in Chester, PA, authorities at the Westtown School decided in 1853 that all outgoing letters carried by stagecoach should require a fee of 2 cents. Prepaid stamps were placed on sale at the school and revenue from the sale of these stamps was used to pay a fee to students or community mail carriers who delivered letters to or from the nearest post office
