1847, 5¢ red brown (Scott 1), an exceptionally well margined example tied by blue grid cancel on 1849 folded letter to West Chester, Penna., matching "Philada Pa./5/Aug 13" town postmark with integral rate at right, used in combination with Blood's Despatch (1c) bronze on black (#15L17) acid tied as usual; trivial cover foxing, Very Fine and choice, ex-Gibson, Sampson.
