1881, 1¢ Franklin, gray blue, re-engraved (Scott 206), a group of 4 used on pioneer post cards, all showing advertising on the reverse, including:
Landreth's Seed Farm with an ad for "Landreth's Extra Early Peas" in green on the reverse;
Alden Book Co., with a list of books on the reverse;
Marvin Safe & Scal Co., with a reply message on the reverse; and
Caitlin, Brundrett & Co., with an ad for their Domestic Woolen Dept. on the reverse.
Attractive items (the last card with some soiling), generally Fine to Very Fine. These are very scarce early cards with retail prices over $800.
