Lote 289 1847, 5¢ red brown (Scott 1), large margins all around, tied on an 1849 blue folded entire by neatly struck red numeral "5" in circle handstamp cancel, from Troy, N.Y. to New York via the Hudson River Steamboat but lacking the usual New York "Steamboat" handstamp, another unusual aspect of this cover is the use of the rate handstamp to cancel the stamp, Extremely Fine, ex-Garrett, Grunin.
