Bulgaria, 1879-1984, the extensive collection in 18 volumes, formed by the late George McNamara. Rich in varieties and covers, and amply annotated throughout.
Volumes 1 and 2 do not exist. George may have planned these volumes but they are not with the lot.
Volume 3 contains issues of 1901-1909, including blocks, surcharge varieties, covers and postal stationery. Stamps alone catalog over $1500. Fully imaged as PDF #1.
Volume 4 contains issues of 1909-1915, including singles, blocks, printing varieties and printing errors, also numerous covers and some postal stationery. Fully imaged as PDF #2. Catalog value approximately $400 for the stamps alone.
Volume 5 contains issues of 1917-1926, including many blocks and covers. The main value is in the imperfs and other printing errors, with a Michel value over €1000. Fully imaged as PDF #3.
Volume 6 contains issues of 1928-1939, including essays, imperfs, Sanatorium postal tax issues and many covers. Fully imaged as PDF #4.
Volumes 7 through 14 contain issues of 1939 through 1984. Not imaged.
Volumes 15 through 18 contain airmail and other back-of-the-book issues. Main value is in the early postage dues. Stamps catalog over $5000. Fully imaged as PDF #5.
Total catalog value for stamps alone estimated at over $9,000.
