Lot 65 Jackson, Francis and Chandler, Albert "Happy", Jackson was a relief pitcher for Don Drysdale who only lasted about a year in baseball. Chandler, a multi-sport athlete during his college days at Transylvania College, briefly considered a career in professional baseball before deciding to pursue politics becoming Kentucky's 44th and 49th Govenor. "Happy" Chandler was elected baseball's second Commissioner on April 24, 1945 by a unanimous vote of the 16 club owners. His brief six-year tenure encompassed some of the most significant developments in the game's history. A colorful cacheted cover postmarked from Copperstown,NY 8/1/1982.
