Dumas, Alexandre, Le Comte de Monte-Cristo ("The Count of Monte Cristo"), written in 1846, this edition was printed in 1923, luxuriously bound in quarter leather with marbled end plates, gilded pages and page ribbons, 6 volumes in octavo, 2034 pages, with wood-cut illustrations in black & white by Fred-Money. The text is Dumas's original, in French (mais bien sur en français!). In good condition for its age, we note only a few minor scuffs to the binding and some end pages are a bit toned, a handsome set overall. This set will look lovely on a serious book collector's library shelf and the books are quite readable. Shipping weight 10 lbs / 4.55 kilos.
