1863, 2¢ Jackson, black, horizontal pair, used with 24¢ Washington, gray lilac (Scott 73, 78a), choice centering, tied by quartered cork cancels on a mourning cover to Wiesbaden, Germany, with red "N. York Br. Pkt. 7 Paid May 8" (1866) credit datestamp, and blue "Aachen/Franco" boxed handstamp. The cover was carried on Cunarder Africa from Boston on May 9, 1866, arriving Queenstown May 19. Tiny opening tears and part of the backflap removed, a Very Fine cover overall, ex-Allen (illustrated in Lane's book on page 50), Fairman, Faust.
