Political Memorabilia, The Independent Gazetteer, newspaper, 1787, one of the earliest and most politically active American newspapers of the Revolutionary and post-Revolutionary period in Philadelphia, it began in 1782 and became famous for its radical pro-liberty and anti-Federalist tone.
This particular issue - Vol. VI, No. 517 (August 8, 1787) - was printed just weeks before the signing of the U.S. Constitution (September 17, 1787), making it a piece of American journalism from the Constitutional Convention era.
