Revenue, 1864, First Issue, 2¢ U.S. Internal Revenue, perf'd (Scott R15), used with a 2¢ Nevada State Revenue stamp on a bank check drawn on Wells, Fargo & Co. Carson City, Nevada, dated July 22, 1870, and signed by H.M. Yarington, the President of the Virginia City and Truckee Railroad, which was used to haul gold from Virginia City. The U.S. 2¢ revenue is damaged at right, the signature is clear. A nice Western Gold Rush era usage.
