Worldwide, 1930's, Shanghai calendar advertising posters, these 11 feature elegant women often called "calendar girls" dressed in cheongsam qipao, symbolizing modernity fashion and prosperity in early 20th century Shanghai. Used by companies to advertise products such as cosmetics, cigarettes, medicine or food products and often includes the company name at the bottom. These appear to be authentic lithographs from the Republic of China era measuring 21 x 29.5 inches with metal ends, each are in excellent condition showing light age wear. Perfect for collectors of vintage advertising, Chinese art, or 1930s ephemera. Hard to find in original form-most surviving examples are in museums or private collections. These typically sell for approximately $50 -$200 each depending on condition.
