Japan, 1871-1997, a mint and used collection, neatly mounted on pages and housed in three Palo 5-ring albums with slip cases. 19th century with a showing of hand-engraved issues, Kobans and Chrysanthemums, plus extensive later issues, with strength in commemoratives and modern. Issues prior to 1876 are mostly forgeries and not counted, then Kobans and Chrysanthemums mostly used, some early mint commemoratives, Earth Quake Emergency issue complete mint, most National Park sets mint, Kirishima National Park souvenir sheet mint, very complete for post-WW2 issues including some souvenir sheets, note several airmail complete sets including 1952 issue without zeroes; Ryukyus is nearly complete less only a handful of stamps (no #17). A few faults but generally Fine to Very Fine, with much never hinged. A very attractive collection overall. Shipping weight 14 lbs / 6.35 kilos. Scott $4,000+.

Nice condition throughout with no faults noted, o.g., nearly all never hinged (a few earlier issues hinged), generally Fine to Very Fine, an excellent lot for the store dealer or the dealer filling want lists.
