Precancels, 1902-1930's, an important collection of many hundreds, mostly 4th Bureau Issue 1¢ to 10¢ values including coils, mainly larger cities with Bureau precancels including some to the 50¢, well organized A to Z on blank Elbe pages, also includes a modest collection of Washington-Franklins including San Francisco (perf. 10 to 15¢ and perf. 11 to 50¢), Chicago (perf. 12 to 15¢, perf. 10 to 30¢ and perf. 11 to 50¢ plus 1902's to 15¢), Akron Ohio (perf. 10 to 30¢ and perf. 11 to 50¢), Ashland Ohio (perf. 10 to 30¢ and perf. 11 to 50¢), plus hundreds of extras on blank pages, few non 4th Bureau 1920's and 1930's issues and some without precancels. Postal Stationery, 1853-1989, a handsome collection of entires and cut squares, Nesbitts to new issues, neatly mounted in a Scott album, plus duplicates in a stock book. Very extensive and nearly complete except for the great rarities. All except a few early ones are unused. In mostly nice condition, generally Very Fine with some full corners, with only a few faults in some of the earliest issues. An excellent collection for expansion. A small sampling has been imaged. Best item is probably the 5¢ Columbian color error (slate brown, #U350a, catalog value $700). Mixed condition with occasional faults on the earliest issues (there are several early cut rounds and they have not been included in the catalog value), but many are F.-V.F. or V.F. A selection has been imaged on the web. Scott approximately $2,900.
