1870-1894, fancy cancels on Bank Note issues, a massive and most impressive collection. Approximately 1,250 stamps, attractively presented on Scott hingeless album pages, with a very wide range of cancels including different shapes and sizes, in circles or in frame, anchors, flags, foreign mail, insects, letters, Masonic, "OK", postal markings, stars, wheels and more. Of especial note is the large group of Pumpkin head cancels, accompanied by an A.P.S. article describing them. Some minor duplication, mostly Very Fine strikes, a beautiful collection, ex-Gatsby, fully imaged on the web.

1851-83, group of 6 used classics (Scott 17, 94, 115, 186, 211, O126), including 1851, 12¢ Washington, gray black - large sealed tear (space filler); 1867, 3¢ Washington, red, F. grill - blue cancel; 1869, 6¢ Washington - nibbed perf at top left; 1879, 6¢ Lincoln, A.B.N.C. printing - circle of wedges cancel; and 1883, 4¢ Jackson, blue green and a 1911, 10¢ Official, all with radiant color and nicely centered, light black cancels and/or premium red cancel, otherwise Fine to Very Fine. 1869-1960's, hodgepodge, this treasure trove is all over the place including singles, sets, blocks, and plate blocks! It is too much to catalog but are guessing at least $2500 and we estimate there is over $200 in face value alone, there are many items that catalog $15 and up a few classics, then more modern items such as Overrun Countries in blocks of 4, famous Americans in blocks of 4, Prexies in blocks of 4, not to mention a ton of commemoratives in plate # blocks of 4; also Farley S/S and blocks! Much of this is mounted and n.h. Perfect for the collector/dealer who wants to sort and organize - lots of neat finds in this medium box!

Postage Due, 1895-1985, eclectic mint group, including Sc. #J38 (n.h.), J39, J45, J46a, J48, J55, J62 (n.h.) and J77a; Sc. #J79-86 ½¢ to 50¢ dull carmine, all appear n.h. except the 2¢, 3¢, 30¢, and 50¢ dull carmine; J79a-86a ½¢ to 50¢ scarlet and J87 $1 scarlet, all appear n.h.; we believe these to be dry printings; also including never hinged plate blocks of 4 in the 1¢, 2¢ (x2 - one is hinged), 3¢ (x2), 10¢ (x2) and 50¢ values; Sc. #J88-J101 singles with shiny gum all n.h., #J88-101 singles with dull gum missing the 7¢ value plus J102-J104 singles - of particular note is the J94 with dull gum; also included plate blocks of 4 virtually all are n.h. of Sc. # J88-J104 - of note is the J88 plate block, a great little group of shade varieties, printings and gum! o.g., some never hinged / some hinged, generally Fine to Very Fine.
