Sanitary Fair, Philadelphia, Pa., 1864, 20¢ carmine, trial color proof on wove, perf'd (Scott WV12TC), intriguing example of this elusive used Philadelphia fair issue, equally balanced margins with a sharp and bold impression, unused without gum; short perforation at top, Fine to Very Fine, ex-Steele, Kantor.

1847-1926, interesting small group of mint and used, on 2 stock pages, starting with a used #1, includes a 24¢ 1861, some 1869 Pictorials, several Bank Notes (mint and used - note one with a fancy cancel), a few 1890's Bureau issues, a variety of Washington-Franklins, some commemoratives into the 1920's, back-of-the-book including special delivery, postage due, officials etc. Nice variety; occasional small faults but mostly sound, generally Fine to Very Fine, imaged in full on our web site. Scott $1,000 ++.
