States oval) to Nova Scotia (left corner handstamp); then traveled by Canadian post to Lennoxville (Quebec) reverse handstamp, and then on to Huntingville; a great cover with lovely markings, Very Fine.

1861, 10¢ yellow green (Scott 68), tied by a well struck 19mm 11 bar grill postmark paying the 10¢ rate from the West Coast to the East Coast in the year 1863; as indicated by manuscript "Via Panama" this cover traveled the Panama Route - up until 1860 this route offered the fastest method of mail travel coast to coast in the United States; a very fresh cover, Very Fine.
